Retreat: The Quest [for Compassionate Self]

This retreat is an opportunity to experience formal and informal mindfulness practice in a group, in nature, while walking, sitting, eating and interacting. The invitation for silence means that we are open to the individual choice of total silence, while also extending the possibility for those who wish to share at the end of each day. Silence means that emotions, thoughts and physical sensations that we have been neglecting through our fast-paced lifestyles may surface. During the retreat, we will be accompanied by BMC-trained coaches who have done mindful self-compassion, coach training and have their own practice of meditation. Their assistance will enable you to seek 1:1 support at any time during the retreat.

The daily schedule will include

Compassionate silence
Sitting, walking and lying down practices

Mindful eating
Mind-Body exercise based on Qigong

Mindful listening
Mindful bell

Each day we will have a mindful listening sharing circle and guided sessions related to the topic of the day.

“Qi Gong” is a modern term for practices that use movement and visualization to cultivate our innate ability to gather and move Qi. The simple, flowing movements are done in both sitting and standing postures. In this bilingual (Ch.-Eng.) workshop you will learn a set of movements for daily practice. Through practicing regularly, we can increase well-being and optimal functioning in the body and mind. General benefits include better sleep, increased energy, a calmer mind, and relief from aches and pains. Over time, we can learn to use the exercises to heal ourselves, prevent illness, and heal others.
